Before the official start of Google I/O 2024, Google once again released the second wave of the Android 15 developer preview update to developers, which includes updated volume control and virtual keyboard usage experience.
Continuing the content of the first wave of the Android 15 developer preview update, the second wave of updates mainly enhances the user experience.
Among them, the volume adjustment interface will be readjusted, and the volume of media, calls, ringtones, notifications, and alarms can be adjusted individually, while also making the overall interface more simplified.
In the related update, Google also seems to plan to use artificial intelligence technology to enable the phone to directly correspond to noise control and spatial audio presentation effects, but the actual function may still depend on whether Google will finally add it to the official version update of Android 15.
As for the operation of the virtual keyboard, this update provides three control options: “Sticky keys”, “Slow keys”, and “Bounce keys”. Among them, “Sticky keys” is mainly designed for the use needs of combination keys, allowing users to maintain the pressed state when pressing the Shift and other auxiliary keys, making it more convenient for users to operate different key combinations on the phone.
“Slow keys” delays the actual trigger time of the keys, allowing the user to maintain a long press to trigger the corresponding key function, while “Bounce keys” avoids abnormal mis-touch caused by the user’s hand shaking and other situations. Such functions are mainly created for specific disability situations.
In addition, Google has also enhanced the experience of external physical key input operations in this version update, making it easier for users to directly connect a keyboard to the phone for office work.
